About Robbie
Robbie is a serial entrepreneur, founder & speaker.
In 2017 Robbie was selected in SmartCompany’s Hot 30 Under 30 & in 2016 won the Australian Business Award for Marketing Excellence (ABA100). Robbie is the Founder of multiple high-growth eCommerce companies.
I have had an entrepreneurial mindset from a young age. Whether it was importing shoes at age 15 to sell to my classmates via a MySpace page, or starting a compression wear brand at 16 to rival Skins (they had nothing to worry about).
It has been a journey of tremendous success, learnings and never-ending development.
My largest entrepreneurial venture to this point has been UNCLE JACK.
I started Uncle Jack in 2014 as a watch brand to rival established brands that weren’t catering well to the millennial market. From a twelve-thousand-dollar investment, we had generated over a million dollars in revenue in just our first financial year. It was a combination of clever marketing, hard work and a little bit of luck.
A handful of our strategies with Uncle Jack really set it up for success. At a time where influencer marketing was only just starting to be uncovered, in many ways our strategy and digital footprint pathed the way for many others in this regard. Our ability to connect & collaborate with high-profile people of influence in the sports and entertainment space was unparalleled. Household names like Megan Gale, Patty Mills, Dyson Heppell and Kalyn Ponga all collaborated on their own unique watch campaigns.
Uncle Jack has recently been acquired by a private group and continues strong growth and success.
For many years I had a desire to design and release my own sneakers. After teaming up with my old friend Joe Tambo in 2016/17 we launched ATHLETIKAN.
Similarly, to Uncle Jack, the explosive growth in the early stages of the business was phenomenal. We had a recipe for success; a great product that resonated with the target audience, and the marketing means to get it out there and capitalise on the interest.
One of the key strategies that I have become known for is my ability to generate significant product launches by funneling hype and interest. More on that for another day, but in many ways, it has been a pillar of my success in business.
Athletikan continues to grow & flourish with huge plans in the pipeline.
Early in 2020 I acquired another brand – Whisky & Stone. W&S is an eyewear brand specialising in blue-light filter computer glasses. With some crafty marketing and refining some of the processes I got my investment back in just 12 weeks and the business became profitable.
I have been lucky enough to be a guest speaker at International events & conferences and share my knowledge and experiences with those that can benefit.
I’m always open to new opportunities, partnerships and collaborations, so don’t hesitate to reach out for a chat!
